Dr. Hany El Naggar is a highly experienced Full Professor of GeoStructural Engineering at Dalhousie University, geotechnical and structural engineering, and research across Canada and internationally. His research and consulting focus on soil-structure interaction (SSI), tunnelling, concrete infrastructure durability and repair, special structure behavior, foundation design, and recycling industrial by-products in construction. He has designed various foundation systems and tunnels globally and contributed to slope stability assessments for embankments and dams. Dr. El Naggar's extensive research output covers experimental and numerical work, particularly emphasizing seismic analysis and design for buried infrastructure. His work has influenced revisions in seismic provisions in Canadian bridge design codes, advocating for rigorous dynamic analysis in seismic zones, and his modeling methods are recognized as best practices in concrete structure design codes.
